Walking

I've been reading this blog called Mr Money Mustage. A 30 year old Coloradan that got super focused and saved like crazy from 20-30. They saved nearly 1 million dollars. They had their first baby and both retired. Now he writes for his blog and does pretty much Egan he awaits. Now were not taking flashy stuff. But they have a 2700 sq foot home paid off. They live off 2400 and they have a simple and intentional life. Of course I totally respect them. He has a very good mindset. So he is totally about walking and biking to save money and stay fit. So yesterday I took the girls out for an hour and today we walked to our nearest king Soopers just to see how long it would take. The walk was not bad at all ! We stopped at the playground and took our time. Sydney did great and it took out a lot of energy. We came home and all crashed for a two hour nap. It was amazing!

Anyway I'm hoping as the weather warms up we can walk and possibly bike to the store and park.

My birthday

This year my birthday was at home. I took my girls out. We had waffles for breakfast and I walked for 20 minutes. Most of the day I just thought about baby Lorenzo. I feel so blessed in life. Here's to 31!

Twelve months

Weight: 19 lbs, 12 oz

You scoot like crazy! Crawling is so 2013. You now have mastered all flooring - tile, carpet, wood. You rock it all

You "talk" super cute. You babble ever so quietly. It's so fun.

You are a big eater. Your favorite teething has been carrots, cold apples, frozen yogurt pop.

You love looking at books. You have a hard time when I read it because you want to hold it and usually turn pages faster than I can read

You keep getting this dry spot on your right cheek. It's been there a while but man I hate it when it get super dry. We use lots of lotion, nrosporin and anything we can but it still comes back

You wear 12 month clothes but I bet in the next month or so we will head to 18 months.

You only drink two bottles a day. Morning and right before bed. You have mastered the drinking straw sippy cup. We usually give you lots of water during the day.

You are finally fighting back if Sydney takes one of your toys.

You enjoy watching Daniel tiger with Sydney.

You still nap twice a eat. You go to bed between 745-8, although you love to wiggle around for half an hour before actually falling sleep.

You can stand by yourself as long as you hold on to something

You say "mama" " dada" and "idbey" which I think means Sydney

You started "fighting" back when Sydney takes your toys. This is new since you are super chill. You are starting to stand up for yourself more

You clap, wave, jump and talk while we sing songs

You love to turn pages and love baby bug books

You have been super cranky which I think means teething. You still only have two teeth but I'm sure more will come soon

Oh sweet London, this first year was super long but it was so worth it. I look at you and could not imagine life without you. Your big brown ryes, your infectious smile. I see why God sent you so soon- he knew we needed to balancing factor and you bring it. I see you bringing smiles to everyone you see. You have this ability to go to other people and make them feel so special. You bring the biggest joy to your sister. You gave taught us all to be more flexible and enjoy the small things. You came to humble me and keep me focused on what is most important. I love you. I'm so grateful for you. You are my sweet calm baby.

London's party

We had two families join us for cake and ice cream. It was intimate but oh so so fun. The ashby sand Gomez are the other two Latin families in the ward. We talked a lot about raising kids that are both Latin and American and what that means. My girls have so much history behind them. I don't want them to feel like they have to choose - you can be both. Both are good and beautiful. More than anything I feel so grateful that I can raise them here.

On another random note. We got a free table from a stake member that was moving. It's gorgeous! I hope to paint it but it's so awesome. The chairs are super comfy and now we have room for six!

Sharing my birthday

I got the sweetest birthday present. Julio and Jeanette welcomed baby Lorenzo Marchena into the world. He was over 9 lbs and gorgeous hair. Now we get to share a birthday for the rest of forever and I could not wish anything more.

He signals so many promises - so many changes - the true beauty of the gospel and repentance. Lorenzo and I share slot in common and I cannot wait to meet , hug and love on him. I know we will be instant best friends. Happy birthday Lorenzo. Here's to a lifetime of shared greatness.

Superbowl Funniest Picture

Valentines day

Nothing big happened. We made a card for daddy and bought him a DQ blizzard. We came home and had naps. When Ty got home I headed to the dealership for an oil change. I had gone earlier but it was a two hour wait. I watched HGTV and read. I'm sure it sounds boring but it was really nice to relax. Sunday we started our dave Ramsey classes. Ty stayed while the girls slept. The class was awesome. We have 8 more to go. Oh also when I got home from the oil change Tyson gave both girls a bath ! Best valentines day present don't you think ? It's funny what romance looks like after kids.

Family day & London's birthday

We got back the night before London's first birthday. We picked up the girls and it was a wonderful reunion. We spent the day celebrating London and hanging out as family. We hit cafe rio and shared a salad. We then hit the museum of nature and science. The big deal was turning London around. She loved it! It was great to finally see her while driving. We cake home, naps , dinner and them just bring at home. It was a wonderful day. Happy birthday London!
