Weekend Recap

It seems these days I can get a post a week in - usually Monday's while I work. This last weekend was actually really really busy. Usually it would not be a big deal to have plans every night but being 9 months pregnant really makes me want to do nothing but sit at home and rest.

Friday we had our babysitting coopp watch Sydney.Tyson and I returned a stroller to Target and the hit Wild Buffalo Wings for dinner. We've never been there. The atmosphere was very "hip" with a bizillion big screen TV's and sports games all around us. It was a fast paced place! We shared the wings and I have to say it was pretty good - not amazing but pretty good. After sharing wings we went across the street and shared ice cream at Cold Stone - yum. It was funny because the placed was packed! Looks like were were not the only crazy ones wanting ice cream in the middle of winter. We picked up Sydney at 815 and she was in bed by 830. The funny thing is that even thought she was in bed an hour later than usual, she still woke up at the exact same time. sigh. Kids will be kids.

Saturday we spent lots of time outside since the weather was so nice. We walked and played in the rocks. By 5 pm I could tell me body was done. Tyson got off at 530 and was excited to go hang out with Danny and Sugey but I just could not do it. Tyson was so sweet and took Sydney while I stayed home and rested on the couch. I watched some Downtown Abbey and rested. They got home at 730, we put Sydney down and then I was in bed at 9 pm.

Sunday we had a GREAT day. Sydney took a nice long 2 hour nap in the morning and we were able to sneak her into NURSERY! It was awesome. She did amazing. She loved playing and was sharing and seemed more upset when we took her home. It was amazing to go to Sunday school with Tyson. It's been a good 8 months since we could do that. After church we had dinner with the Hutchinson's new gorgeous home. The hammonds, Ellis and another family also joined us. We had a blast. We left at 715 and Sydney was in bed by 745.

You know I bet most people think I am getting so much rest because I go to bed so early - but let me tell you my friends. It's been really rought the last couple of weeks.

My body is pretty uncomfortable - to put it lightly. Like last night, I went to bed at 9 but I tossed, turned, went to the bathroom, tossed, turned some more, more bathroom, Sydney gets up at 4 am, put to binkie in, then I can't sleep for an hour, sit in bed and talk to God, finally sleep at 530 am again, Sydney up at 645, Ty gets her .... you get the point. Both Tyson and I are really tired these days. To a point I know it's getting us ready for London, but man I'm getting pretty sick of sitting in bed and not able to get any actual sleep. I'm happy to report both Tyson and I are feeling much better after a quick brush with a cold. Sydney has had a runny nose but she is also breaking two teeth, so I'm thinking it's that vs she is sick.

It was a great and busy weekend. I'm trying to really enjoy them before London comes and we become hermits lol.

Some happenings

Not much happening around here. Denver has had a really cold week or so, plus the worst flu outbreak in a couple of years. All this equals us staying indoors all day. Most of the time I can keep us busy with little projects around the house. I'm in major nesting mode - which for me equals purging and donating. I've been busy posting stuff on craigslist that I can sell fast. It's nice to get rid of stuff, help someone else and clear the house.

My big project that I'm slowing tackling is my 2011/2012 blog book. I must finish it before the baby comes so I don't worry about it. Yesterday we picked up a rocking chair that Celeste and Brian Hutchinson so generously gave to us. Its gorgeous and white! The best part is that it dosent squeek. The other white rocker was reapuslered but the material and wood squeek so Sydney had to get use to the noise. This new rocker dosent make a single noise! It's awesome.

So most days we keep busy, other days we get cabin fever. I try to look at the week ahead and see which days are the best weather and try to venture out. We also get to have play dates every other Friday with the Scottorns which help Sydney interact.

This week Tyson and I get a date night on Friday. We're excited to go have dinner or read of anything alone before the new baby comes. My body is getting more and more awckard. Last night I work MYSELF up 4 times with my weird breathing. I'm pretty sure all the pressure on my diapharm makes it really hard for me to breath at night. I wake up and I can tell my throat is soar from breathing through my mouth rather than my nose. I'm excited to sleep better even if it's shorter.

ps. We made "bath paint" for Sydney yesterday and had her first attempt at it. She took her time but ended up warming up to it. It was fun to see her get messy. I think I'm gonna try it in her high chair next time.

Cute Sydney Pictures

Ah the new year! A time to start anew and make goals. Usually I'm pretty strick about setting very specific goals - however with a 14 month old and a new baby due next month, I've decided to be much more general about goals. I don't like goals that make me feel like a failure 6 months into it. So here are my goals for 2013:

1. Have a healthy birth for London
2. Simplify my house, clothes and kitchen to make the life easier
3. Continue to read to Sydney at lunch at least 4 times a week
4. Continue to freezer cook
5. Lose my baby weight by London's 6 month birthday
6. Fully fun both our IRA's
7. Continue family prayers and reading 4 scriptures every night as a family.
8. Attend church weekly
9. Stablish a routine for London
10. Keep Tyson a top priority as husband.

The weeks after Christmas have flown by. It's nice to finally get back into the normal - although sometimes it feels a little boring. I hear January is the most depressing month of the year. I can totally see why - thankfully Denver has LOTS of sunshine and I can go out a couple times a week and soak up some sun.

I'm getting to the really really tired stage in the last 6 weeks of this pregnancy. I'm starting to get scared of labor and what having a newborn will be like again. I have to think that it has to be a little bit easier. I remember Sydney really rocked our world but she was our first. I know now that we won't die and that if we work together we will make it through.

Tyson has been really cute and has such a neat relationship with Sydney. He is very much more firm and Sydney knows when he means business. She's begining to test boundaries but also learning to follow simple directions and "helps" around a little bit more. It's such a process. The simplest rules takes hours of practice and repetition to achieve.

The focus right now is for sure getting ready for London. My goals for this week is to actually pack my hospital bag and make room in the laundry room for my grandma and mom to put their stuff inside. My grandma plans on staying with us for almost a month and I want to make sure she has a specific place to put her stuff so the house stays cleaner.
