Long Walk

I did an awful thing today.

Meetings. I hate meetings. It feels like Tyson and I have a lot of them, specially on Sundays. It's usually not a problem, but today, I just did not want to go. I wanted to spend time with Tyson. Go on a walk, read with Tyson ... I just wanted Tyson.

He had a meeting at 9:30, then 10;30 then church from 11-2. We got home, ate and rushed to another meeting at 3. We got home at 4, cleaned and watched LOST while I was getting ready for my camp meeting at 6. At 5:30 it just hit me. Enough is enough. I want to be with my husband. I have an assistant. I don't want this meeting.

I picked up the phone, txt Laurie that she can go and fill me in later. I was done and it was great to just say no. I'm not someone who has a hard time saying no, but I love to keep busy. I love to feel productive and being involved, but I had to step back today and see that I was going too fast, too much.

So after my cancellation - we did just what I wanted to. Nothing. We watched LOST and cuddled - a lot ;)

After we went on an hour long walk. Just the two of us. The weather was perfect. We read some of my new book, discussed the plan of salvation, looked at prairie dogs - just the two of us.

We got home and relaxed more. I made some food. It was awesome.

I'm so glad I said no to more meetings. No to more time away. This was a big lesson for me. At the end of the day, you don't build memories on meetings. You build memories with everything outside of meetings.

Ward Talent Show

We attended (& participated) in our first Red Leaf Ward talent show. Ok, Ok, Tyson participated. I ate the refreshements. Tyson sung in a special musical number and brought some of his art work for the display tables.

Tyson sung "lean on me" from Glee with about 12 other members. Meredith Hammond did amazing! Tyson was the top male voice. After the show, we hurried to a BBQ at Katie and Curtis Hickmans house with the Scottorns. Us girls did hair and talked about coupons. The boys talked business and chatted.

My mom did her first ever yard sale - it was a hit! They made more than $500 and are planning to do it again next week. She had customers showing up at 8 am! They might be coming to visit us this summer and I can't wait. So many fun things to do in Denver that I want to show them.

Tyson Comes Home

Tyson is home! Yeah! Dont get me wrong - I had a great time hanging out with Melissa, Katie and the kiddos. We went swimming, played games and of course - couponed!

Still,

I was so happy to have Tyson home. He came home mid afternoon on Father's day. I cleaned the house, made a special dinner and got all cute for him. The ride home from the airport was just talk talk talk about his big acomplishement.

He got second place out of 350 people at the Tom Hopkins event. He won a $500 worth painting and felt so good. He was also invited by Tom Hopkins himself to attend the Denver Bootcamp in November. Tom was very impressed with him.

We came home, ate, made out and watched lots and lots of LOST. We hosted the missionaries over for dinner. We took a walk in the warm summer air and loved being together.

I wrote Tyson a list of the many things I love about him. Tyson is my hero. He has so much belief, so much faith. He teaches me to dream and know that God meant big things for us.

Fun Day

If every Wednesday was this fun - it would trump my current favorite day - Saturday's.

I had my day off this morning. We woke up early, cleaned, ate, and got ready.

We drove to an appointment.

We looked at some awesome houses.

We eat lunch.

We drove to the movie theaters.

We got a Jamba Juice for $1.

We watched the Karate Kid and got popcorn (The popcorn was $.50 after coupons)

We hung out with the Scottorns.

I did some missionary visits.

Did coupons shopping in the warm summer night with my new cruiser bike.

Got home and watched LOST.

It's been such a fun day. It's been great to be with Tyson and see him so happy. It's awesome to be with the Scottorns.

I cannot get over how much I love, love, love WARM summer nights. I feel at peace and just want to take long walks, smell the sweet air and ride my bike. I finally put a make-shift cart on the back. Now I can carry my groceries and purse. I'm loving my bike.

Tyson leaves tomorrow to Boise. I'll miss him. This will be a great training tool for him.

Lately...

Life has been really routine without much to blog about. Tyson and I held our first solo opp night and the results were ok - but man what a great chance to grow. Tonight we got a recruit in Utah and we are bringing on two new agents next week.

Besides that...oh yeah I made my first batch of beans in the crockpot. I know it sounds so 60'ish but honestly I'm pretty proud that I did it. Next time I just need to add salt.

Couponing has been rocking. It's so cool to have Melissa and Katie be my couponing buddies. Although today we had a pretty bad run in at Safeway - but you live and learn.

Tyson leaves for Boise on Thursday. He is going to Tom Hopkins again. I miss him already. I will probably be hanging out with Melissa a lot.

Oh yeah, we are kind of hooked on LOST, but don't tell anyone.

Salt Lake Trip

We have been home for almost two weeks and I've only posted bits and pieces of our trip. It was awesome to see Melynda, it was super to see my family and to see Julio get his blessing - but the main reason we came down was for the Tom Hopkins Training Seminar to help grow our PFS busines.

The seminar itself was intense. Two days of 8 hour classes and I'm not kidding when I say SIX hours of homework and memorization after. It was great to see our SLC team - they already are RVP's. So strong and committed. We got to meet Tom in person and Tyson got a 99% in this final exam. He studied so hard and even beat me. Emily Halley was one of 18 people who got a perfect score and she got to be a special assistant to Tom. She did awesome.

The trip felt like a flash. It was the first time I had been back to Utah since our move in February. The funny thing is that neither family really did anything big. My sister came down from Logan but other than that everyone acted as normal. Call me shallow but I thought we were going to party non-stop since Ty and I don't live in Utah. I was wrong. Both families are doing great and while they loved to see us, they did just fine without us. It was great to see everyone doing better than ok - they're great. Life really never stops. You are always going and going. My first trip back to Utah reasured me that Denver is where we are suppose to be and that God has a special plan for us.

Our next big event is not until September and most likely I won't be back to Utah until Christmas.

Julios Blessing

It's amazing how things can change in life. My brother Julio is such an inspiration to me. He has come a full 180 in life. As part of our Utah trip we were honored to attend his patriatical blessing. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful blessing. I felt so happy. My family is coming together in so many common goals and dreams. I really love the fact that when Julio get's married in the temple - both Jael and I will be there to see him and support him. Not our uncles or friends, but his sisters. The Lord has been so good to us.
